Welcome to Jackify, a Linux and Steam Deck solution for Wabbajack modlist management!

## What is Jackify?

Jackify is a native Linux application that automates the entire process of installing, configuring, and managing Wabbajack modlists on Linux systems and Steam Deck. Gone are the days of fighting with WINE, WebView issues, or manual setup scripts - Jackify handles all the technical complexity for you.

Jackify is hobby project - keep that in mind when asking for support or reporting issues. It is currently in early development with the first public alpha release now available. The WILL BE BUGS and improvements made over time - for example the GUI is functional, but needs work.

You can now run Wabbajack itself on Linux (Both SteamOS/Deck and other distros) via Proton or Wine. Configuring via Proton is the preferred method because it should be the same for any platform that has Steam. If you really prefer not to, then you can use base Wine (not Steam Deck).

If you're coming from the world of my previous Wabbajack-on-Linux scripts, you'll hopefully appreciate what Jackify brings to the table. For those familiar with the old process, you'll remember the pain points: Inconsistent success rates of running Wabbajack via Proton or WINE, UI bugs, Steam Library detection issues and more. Jackify aims to eliminate all of them.

While the guides include the step by step process to get a Modlist up and running, I have created an Automated Modlist Install script, with the aim of drastically reducing the work needed to get up and running. Currently, the Automation script takes care of around 90% of the steps needed.

I've taken all that I have experienced in the last couple of years, worked closely with long-standing regular members of the "Wabbajack on Linux" community to create an application that, hopefully, "just works". A huge thanks to the community members that have helped in brainstorming and testing the application throughout development so far.

The steps included in each guide have been used to get Wabbajack Modlists running on Linux, but not the Wabbajack application itself. As it stands, there is currently **no way** to run Wabbajack itself on Linux - the best efforts so far still result in instability and lack of function. With the steps in this guide, I have confirmed success with Modlists for Skyrim, Fallout 4, Oblivion, Fallout New Vegas, and more, and on platforms such as Steam Deck (SteamOS/Arch), Garuda Linux (Arch) and Fedora/Nobara - though the process should be largely the same for most Linux distros.
